The Magic of Sourdough: Why We Love It

Sourdough isn’t just for fancy bread loaves—it has so many benefits that make it worth keeping a starter in your kitchen.

  • Easier to digest: The natural fermentation process breaks down gluten, making sourdough gentler on our stomachs.
  • Healthier option: It’s packed with probiotics and beneficial acids that can improve gut health.
  • Amazing flavor: That slightly tangy, deep flavor profile adds richness to everything—including biscuits!

Using sourdough in these biscuits makes them more flavorful than your typical butter biscuit, and the fermentation process gives them a lighter, airier texture. Trust us, you’ll taste the difference!

Quick & Simple: No Complicated Steps Required

We get it—nobody wants to spend hours in the kitchen just for biscuits. The great thing about these sourdough cheddar biscuits is that they come together fast.

  • No need for kneading or complicated shaping.
  • No waiting around for dough to rise like traditional bread recipes.
  • Just mix, shape, and bake. That’s it!

These biscuits are perfect for last-minute cravings, unexpected guests, or a simple side dish to round out your meal.

What You’ll Need for the Perfect Batch

You’ll be using our own tried-and-true recipe for these biscuits, but we’ll share a few tips to make sure they turn out perfectly every time:

  • Use a scale to measure ingredients: Sourdough discard or starter, as well as the flour, can very based on the conditions are you currently cooking in. Using a kitchen scale to measure everything will bring a more consistent result.
  • Use quality ingredients: We try and keep everything we use natural or organic, and using higher quality ingredients, such as the flour, can really make a difference.
  • Bake at the proper heat: This one may be a no brainer, but keeping the heat at the correct levels really helps them rise beautifully and gives them a golden, crispy exterior.
